not exactly the Hosmer kids =)

Well, Friday was my last day at work for a few days, we have the next two weekends off too! How exciting. So instead, I picked up a babysitting job for last night because this girl can't skip a beat and just relax apparently. It was quite a night. I only hoped it would be anything like spending time with my favorite Hosmer crew. Guess again =) (Maria you are the idol mom!) I sat for two year old twin girls, and their 5 year old sister. Holy cow, what a handful. The worst part of babysitting is when the parents are home because the kids know theyre still there. They finished getting ready to go out for the first 45 minutes I was there and then took off for about 4 hours. The twins were cuties but I can't imagine having two two-year-olds every day! After they went to bed I was blessed enough to have a High School Reunion dance party. The outfits, the dance moves, the nail polish, the hairdos, the singing, the pop and pizza. I was just thinking the whole time I was behaving like a five year old how hilarious I must have looked, but oh well it was kinda fun letting loose for a change haha. The parents didn't come home til about 1230 and I was exhausted. I was ready for bed at 10 lol. It was a half hour home and the whole time I was driving I couldn't tell if the blustery wind or my sleepiness was causing me to swirve around...just a little, geez. =) It was a fun night but has assured me the reason I have chosen not to become a kindergarden teacher hehe.

Well lots more wrapping to do today, and cleaning up this apartment before I head home for a few days! I can't wait to see EVERYONE! =) xoxo

not to boast, just to post.

The following blog is not me tooting my own horn (ok, well maybe a little small pat on my back.... hehe) but it is rather proof that hard work will pay off in the end. It is proof that if you have desire you will achieve. It is me explaining my lack of socialization over the last three months to say the least. =)

Well, I did it. I pulled off another semester -this time a 17 credit one- with a 4.0. It really seems like magic until I remember the nights- almost all of them- that I came home from work and only studied, or only did homework. I would sure hope that it would be worth something in the end.

Again, I choose not to boast but to encourage others. If you see that end result there is only one path you must take to get there, you'll figure it out. I promise! Anything is possible =)

I don't want congrats, I want "I can do that too"s!

Welcome home GRAMMA! =)

well i could write about my day at work, but we had a leasing seminar alllll day (pretty boring)
so I'll move on to bigger and better things: THE MALL!

=) I headed to Crossroads mall after work to do some Christmas shopping (lying- to visit Micah at work hehe) and thennnn do some shopping. I found him a pretty cool gift and I also spent six whole dollars on myself- which I still feel guilty about. This is the season for giving. Well, if you know me well, you know that I am the most serious bargain shopper around. I guess $6 isn't so bad then right? I wish I had the guts of most girls my age, buying everything they see. They make me sick haha. Just like they can stay awake until 4 am. I'm ready for bed now and its yes, 9:30. I'm so lame. so lame.
Anyway, I also went to pick up my mom's present, the most practical gift I will buy this year. I'll give you a hint, I will now finally be able to get ahold of this lady! =) ringgg....rinnnggg...

Moving on to the highlight of this blog:

Tomorrow is a day I have been long awaiting. Nearly two months ago my gramma fell at home and broke her arm and was bruised up pretty bad (she's a 5 foot/ 85 pound lady!) She was in the hospital in critical care for about three or four weeks and we couldn't even speak to her for about 10 days. I drove from Kalamazoo to Ypsilanti so fast the afternoon my mom called me and said things weren't looking good. I was scared to death. I just wanted to be there with her. My grandma is the most precious woman I know- she's no crazy old lady- she's classy, fun, and so special to me. I spent about an hour at the hospital and then had to drive back to kzoo to work the next day Then I drove right back to see her after work. So much gas and so many miles but I would do it again and again. She moved into a physical therapy/nursing home for the last 4 weeks or so and I visited her there on Thanksgiving. I was so happy to be able to talk to her after so long and so happy that she knew who I was and was back to herself for the most part, again. I stayed with her while she did some of her exercises for her healing arm and we just laughed and chatted. It was the best day ever! Tomorrow, she comes home! I am so excited to be able to talk to her and call her again! She is just in time for Christmas- her house is magical during this season. My family has been doing some decorating around her house so she'll be welcomed home to a cozy place! I have learned that although she has scared us before, the most important thing is to have 100% hope. My family visited her EVERY day. I believe any healing person needs that, they need that something to fight for. She is the strongest woman I know. These were my thoughts the past couple months:

to the tiniest fighter.
you fooled us....again.
we shouldve never doubted your strength.instead we should have changed all of our our concern into hope.

there are miracles. and there are angels.

you are both.
keep proving to those doctors that you are no ordinary woman, and that you will win. She did!

I would also like to share, that is if you're still reading hehe, my gramas favorite prayer that I kept through all of this as well:
St. Theresa's Prayer

May today there be peace within
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.

May you not orget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.

Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul
the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.

It is there for each and every one of you.
Welcome home grams!
=)

Well ... JUST WHEN I THOUGHT exams/homework was over, I was given some at work today. Better go finish it. Ughhh, I swear!
have a great night, all
xo

Ok, my cat has likely disowned me.

Ok, so there is not much explanation necessary when it comes to this picture. But I will tell the story anyway, because it's pretty funny. I came home from work yesterday around 3 pm and Kayla and I spent a good half hour being lazy, because we can now. At approximately 3:42 she says, "Santa pictures! I just remembered, PetSmart is doing pictures with Santa today for your pets until 4:00!" So in about 3 minutes we got changed and packed up our two furry felines. They really appreciated the sudden confusion I'm sure. We made it to PetSmart at about 2 minutes to 4 hoping Santa hadn't changed yet.... I mean.... gone back to the North Pole.....They said since we brought our cats they would do two more shots. Kayla and I were laughing histarically as Santa was trying to make Will look at the camera. We couldn't help but think that if our cats hadn't mentally disowned us by now, they sure would the minute we conclude this adventure.....To make things even better the blizzard began while we were inside..
I'll just conclude this by saying carrying a twenty pound cat wrapped in a robe like a child- through a snowy blizzard was not the easiest task I have taken on.
I was praying I wouldn't slip on the ice and lose my kitty who I had just been reunited with a year ago =)

I declare it a SNOW DAY...

As many of you have as well, we were dumped on overnight with about 8 to 10 inches of snow. Sooo since I had the day off, I decided I would stay in alllll day and catch up on some things I've been dying to do.....

well after a yummy breakfast I became brave and ventured under my bed- always an experience.
my goal was to do some scrapbooking today, and its 4:30 and I have yet to make one page. Instead, I spent a lousy two hours or so organizing the scrapbook stuff I found under there. Wow, the things that keep me so interested and occupied..... I impress myself.

oh, and I totally loaded SIMS on my computer again. (Actually Micah helped me load if for like an hour haha) Everyone should play that game at least ONCE in their life. It's awesome =)

Well the snow frustrates many people but if you stay indoors I guarantee you'll find something to do while having a not-so-bad view looking outside.

Here are some pics I snapped.

*tip toe time*

I just got home from Battle Creek, picked up a CD of my dance photoshoot- I didn't get as many good ones as I'd hoped but they're still fun! Here are some of my favorite shots I'd love to share (see if you can figure the last one out....)

= o)

one semester closer to GRADUATION! ;) hehe

Ahhhh. The sigh of relief- of accomplishment- of relaxation.

I just finished my last final exam of the semester! The feeling I get when I walk out of the last class each semester is wonddeeerrful. I now have 5 semesters out of the way and just 3 to go before I start my preinternship/student teaching. It's crazy. Next year will be my last year of book work and the following year will be spent in the classroom. Time is flying, and I have decided to take it easy next semester. I dropped one class so now I am down to four classes, one science lab, and a preinternship. I think that will be plenty to keep me busy! I dont feel too bad about eliminating a class that is one of my final requirements.

I plan on spending my three week break working ewwww, and doing other things I thought I never had time to do over the last few months- scrapbooking, cleaning, exercising, spending time with my family and friends.

I CANT WAIT!

now I just have to cross my fingers until Tuesday at 6pm for my fate- hoping for all A's! =)

SANTA PAWS

I have to share some of my most recent favorite pictures.

In honor of mine and Will's one year reunion, I gave him an extra special Christmas present. He is just so darn cute that I just had to see what he would look like in a Santa suit. Surprisingly, he didn't fight it too much, maybe because the cape was just snug enough that he knew the velcro would come apart if he moved. The lil Santa hat just topped it right off! Have a look for yourself.... (his cousin Coop makes a very cute reindeer!)

One down, Four to go!

lets just say, once again, I'm so ready for the end of this semester. Although the classes weren't too bad, the seventeen credits are catching up to me during this last week. Last night was the last time I would meet with my Ed. psych class. booohooooo right? It was my favorite class this semester, but I am glad to have one class over with and only four to go! She even cancelled our final exam! =)

I just returned from my english class this morning where we gathered for breakfast and some poetry. I don't know what it is, but literally every english class I've taken here ends with a breakfast every semester. Great professors in the english department ;) Anyway, Im about to head over to Woods Lake elementary for another "last." Today is the final visit with my student Esbeydi. We've been working on her writing all semester and today is a day to celebrate with cookies and by playing hangman...its somewhat educational right? =)

This afternoon I plan to do a little shopping with micah, but unfortunately the majority of my day will consist of a math project which is due tomorrow and studying for a bio test, also tomorrow. Miss Procrastinator, you may call me. It's in my blood!

Some things I'm looking forward to:
*a weekend!
*our Christmas exchange with the roomies next Friday
*our Christmas party next friday!
*seeing my fat kitty in his santa suit again!
*the end of one more semester. I'm almost a SENIOR! wowza. =)

I naturally become a zombie during this time of year. My mind is crunching to get things done. If anything REALLY exciting happens Ill be sure to post!

tata for now.

what goes down must come.....up. ewwwww!

holy cow. a lot has happened since last blog!

* my days usually go from 7am til 11pm with little free time in between but ill try to exclude the boring stuff- ahhemm like school =)

Last Thursday I had the chance to do something I've dreamed of doing for a long time now... sounds cheesy I know, and it is.. I finally had the chance to do a dance photoshoot with a professional photographer. I grew up looking at the ballerina calendars and posters throughout the studio and always wanted to do something like that of my own. Sarah, my bestest friend from my illegeal motion dance team, and I headed to battle creek with bags of shoes, props, leotards, and leg warmers. Dave Melges photographed our dance team last year and I also have done a couple other shoots for other various projects he's working on, it's a blast and he takes some cool pictures! He doesn't only shoot dance, so if you have a cool hobby and want more of his info let me know! Anyway, Sarah and I played dress up and I paired my toe shoes with everything from jeans to dress pants. I haven't seen the finished products yet, but he did add one shot to his webpage advertising for the project- his dance fine arts book! kinda cool...(http://davemelges.com/dance/index.html)

Overall, it was a great time, and Sarah and I found our dance sides again! We stopped to "treat" ourselves for dinner on the way home and lets just say I wont EVER eat at Denny's again. I dont know what I was thinking in the first place...Today is Sunday and I'm still feeling the effects of food poisoning. Eww. I won't say anymore.

My weekend was pretty much filled with lots of work.. work work... I put off all the homework for tonight. (Yes, im finished hehe) I did get a chance to brave the snow storm and head to jtown for an early Christmas party with Micah. His family gathered for dinner and treats and I spent the time chatting with my favorite Hosmers, feeding Lexi yummy snowman icecream, walking around with her on her tiptoes in the gym "chasing" after a Cars ball, and playing one serious game of Uno. I had a blast, despite the fact that the only thing on my mind was whether or not the little bit of food I ate would make a surprise reappearance on the table in front of me
=( Sorry I wasn't too social, everyone.

Well its about time for bed, goodnight to all. xo

only one more week of class before finals!!! wooo hooooooo
